Well, it lasted a week.

After we commented last week that AI had been surprisingly quiet on the fundraising front, the hot-topic sector has bounced back.

Most noticeably with Amazon’s billion dollar investment in Anthropic, though a few other AI-infused startups also had big weeks.

10 Biggest Funding Rounds This Week 💵

1. H55, a startup that supplies e-propulsion technologies for the aviation industry, gained $45m

2. Adela specializes in blood testing for detecting cancer; raised $48M

3. Jokr, an online grocery delivery startup that focuses on Latin America, hauled in $50m in Series D funding

4. Arc, an e-boat maker, raised $70m. They recently sold out their first model, which costs $300k/each

5. Evozyne, an AI drug discovery & development platform, raised $81M as part of their Series B

6. Nord Security is a VPN provider. Gained $100m and currently valued at over $3b

7. Alto, an online pharmacy, raised $120m and is now valued at $800m

8. AlphaSense raised $150m to grow its AI-based market intelligence platform; now worth $2.5b

9. Sierra Space, a startup developing a commercial space station, raised $290m.

10. Anthropic, a Gen-AI competitor to ChatGPT, raised $1.25b from Amazon (with the option expand to $4b over time)
